#VitalFactz: 28th Anniversary - Dr. Dre (The Chronic)
On this day in 1992, legendary West Coast producer & former N.W.A. member Dr. Dre released his classic debut solo album The Chronic. This was the first album to be released on the newly founded Death Row Records label. It sold over 5 million copies in the US & peaked at #3 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums Chart due to lyrical contributions from artists such as The D.O.C. (who talked Dre into MAKING the album), Snoop Dogg, as well as Tha Dogg Pound, RBX & The Lady Of Rage. It includes the singles Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang, Let Me Ride (which earned him a Grammy) & Fuck Wit Dre Day (And Everybody's Celebratin').
