On this day in 2003, South Jamaica, Queens native 50 Cent released his highly anticipated major label debut album Get Rich Or Die Tryin'. This album exceeded all expectations as it sold over 872,00 copies in its first week of sales. It debuted at #1 on Billboard Hot 200 Albums Chart & sold over 9 million copies in the US. This album was made possible because Eminem took a chance on 50 when none of the NY labels would go near him with a 10 foot pole. He brought 50 to Dr. Dre & the rest is history. This album includes the singles In Da Club, 21 Questions, P.I.M.P. as well as Many Men (Wish Death) & If I Can't.
