On this day in 1986, New York natives The Beastie Boys released their classic debut studio album Licensed To Ill. This album was certified Diamond (over 10 million album sold) & was the first Hip Hop album in history to peak at #1 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums Chart. This album includes the singles Hold It Now, Hit It, Paul Revere, Slow & Low, No Sleep 'Till Brooklyn, Brass Monkey, The New Style and (You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!).
