It was 40 years ago today that Sugarhill Records released the first ever charted Rap single known to the world as Rappers Delight. This record features the MC's Michael Wonder Mike Wright, as well as Guy Master Gee O'Brien and the late Henry Big Bank Hank Jackson. The track interpolates[2] Chic's "Good Times", resulting in Chic’s Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards suing Sugar Hill Records for copyright infringement; a settlement was reached that gave the two songwriter credits.
