#VitalFactz: Happy Birthday - DMX

Happy Birthday @DMX DMX. Born Earl Simmons December 18, 1970. Simmons, who is originally from Mount Vernon, New York first got nationwide attention as a featured artist on LL Cool J's posse track 4, 3, 2, 1, the track (produced by EPMD's Erick Sermon) which ignited a well known beef between fellow featured artist Canibus & LL himself. In May of 1998 he released his highly anticipated debut album It's Dark & Hell Is Hot. This album went on to sell over 4 Million copies in the US. It would be the first of 5 consecutive albums to debut at #1 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums Chart as well as top the R&B Albums Chart. It features the singles Get At Me Dog, Stop Being Greedy, Ruff Ryder's Anthem & How It's Goin' Down. In December of '98 he made history when he released his follow-up album Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood. This made DMX the first (& only) artist in history to have 2 consecutive albums released in the same calendar year to debut at #1 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums Chart. This album reached Triple Platinum status & includes the singles No Love For Me & Slippin'. A year later DMX would release his biggest selling album to date with ... And Then There Was X. This album was certified 5x Platinum & features the singles What's My Name, What These Bitches Want & Party Up In Here. In 2001 he dropped the Platinum selling album The Great Depression. It features the singles the singles We Right Here, Who We Be & I Miss You. In 2003 DMX released the Platinum selling Grand Champ which included Where The Hood At & Get It On The Floor. DMX has 10 Award Nominations & won 2 consecutive American Music Awards (2001 & 2001) for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist.
