#VitalFactz: Happy Birthday - Teddy Riley
Happy Birthday Teddy Riley. Born Edward Theodore Riley October 8, 1967. Riley (along with fellow composer/producer Bernard Belle) is credited with spearheading the fusion genre known as New Jack Swing. His production catalog is extensive. Although he mainly worked with R&B acts, his Hip Hop resume is quite impressive as well. In fact, the first record he helped to produce was the 1985 Hip Hop classic The Show, by Doug E. Fresh & Slick Rick. He went on to produce tracks for artists such as Kool Moe Dee (Go See The Doctor, How Ya Like Me Now, Wild Wild West, They Want Money), The late Heavy D (We Got Our Own Thing, Now That We Found Love), Big Daddy Kane (I Get The Job Done), Wreckx-n-Effect (Rump Shaker), Benzino (Bootee) & quite a few others. His heyday was the late 80's through the entire 90's.
