#VitalFactz: Happy Birthday - Kool G Rap
Happy Birthday @TheRealKoolGRap Kool G Rap. Born Nathaniel Thomas Wilson July 20, 1968. Wilson, a Queens, New York native got his start as a member of the legendary Juice Crew. He first got his break when he (along with DJ Polo) were invited by the late Mr. Magic & Marley Marl (who was considered the Quincy Jones of Hip Hop at the time) to their studio to record a demo. The song It's A Demo made a huge impression on Marley that he brought them into the Juice Crew. G Rap again made his mark in 1988 when he appeared on Marley Marl's album In Control, Vol. 1, with his appearance on the classic collaboration known as The Symphony. In 1989 he released his debut album Road To The Riches. which was entirely produced by Marley Marl. In 1990 he released his second album Wanted: Dead Or Alive, which was produced mainly by an up & coming unknown teenager who became known as Large Professor. In fact, he did more production than he was given credit for. This album received more critical acclaim than the first album. In 1992 he released his third album Live & Let Die. This would be his final collaboration with DJ Polo as he would go solo after this release. This album included On The Run & Ill Street Blues. In 1995 released his first solo album 4,5,6. This would be his most successful album to date as it peaked at #1 on Billboard's R&B Albums Chart. It also peaked at #24 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums Chart. It includes the singles It's A Shame and Fast Life. He has 8 studio albums & 5 Collaborative albums to date & is still making music today.
