On this day in 1994, So So Def artist Da Brat released her debut solo album Funkdafied. This album was certified Platinum. This made her the first female Platinum solo artist & the second female Hip Hop act to receive a Platinum certification, the first being Salt-N-Pepa. This album includes the Platinum single Funkdafied as well as Fa All Y'all & Give It To You.
