On this day in 1997, Boogie Down Productions leader KRS-One released his eighth solo studio album (his third as a solo artist) I Got Next. This would be his most successful album to date as well as his final album for Jive Records. It reached Gold Status & peaked at #3 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums Chart. It features the singles Step Into a World & A Friend.
