Happy Birthday @kidfromkidnplay Christopher "Kid" Reid. Born April 5, 1964. Reid, a Bronx, NYC native is one-half of the late 80's - early 90's duo Kid 'N Play. He & Christopher "Play" Martin had previously performed in rival HS rap groups before joining forces in 1981. After several name changes they finally decided on Kid 'N Play. In 1987 they signed with Select Records & released their single Last Night. But it was the second single released in 1988 where the video for Do This My Way would introduce to the world their famous Kid 'N Play Kickstep. They released their debut album 2 Hype in the fall of '88 which other hits such as Gittin Funky & Rollin' with Kid 'N Play. In 1990 they starred in the Comedy House Party. The movie had 2 sequels. They have 2 singles that have topped the Billboard's Hot Rap Singles Chart (Funhouse & Ain't Gonna Hurt Nobody). The duo recorded 2 more album before disbanding in 1995. Kid focused more on his acting skills while Play became a born-again Christian.
