Happy Birthday @FlavorFlav Flavor Flav. Born William Jonathan Drayton Jr. March 16, 1959. Drayton (who is originally from Roosevelt, Long Island & grew up in Freeport, Long island) taught himself to play the piano at the age of 5. He eventually mastered the piano as well as drums & guitar. But it was when he attended Adelphi University that his life would change forever. It was there that he met Queens, New York native Carlton Ridenhour, who would soon be known to the world as Chuck D. In 1986 they caught the attention Def Jam Records Co-founder Rick Rubin & he signed them to his label. thus introducing them to the world as Public Enemy. The Def Jam-Public Enemy marriage lasted for 5 album. Two of the album went Gold & 3 of them went Platinum. Although he has had his tribulations with the group, he is still a full-fledged member of Public Enemy.
