Happy Birthday @common Common. Born Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr. March 13, 1972. Lynn, A Chicago native first signed with Relativity Records & in 1992 released his debut album Can I Borrow A Dollar?. This album included the singles Soul By The Pound, Take It EZ & Breaker 1/9. 1994 saw the release of his sophomore album Resurrection. This album did better on the charts as it cracked Billboard's Hot 200 Albums Chart. It includes the single I Used To Love H.E.R. as well as the title track (Resurrection). In 1997 he released his third album One Day It'll All Make Sense. This album did even better than the previous album as it peaked at #61 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums Chart. It featured Respect For Life as well as Reminding Me (Of Sef). The year 2000 saw the release of his first album on a major record as he signed with MCA Records. His fourth album Like Water For Chocolate reached Gold Status. It peaked at #16 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums Chart & features the singles The 6th Sense as well as The Light & Geto Heaven. His 2002 album Electric Circus featured the single Come Close. This would be his last album on MCA as he he then signed with Kanye West's label GOOD Music & in 2005 he released his second Gold Seller Be. This album peaked at #2 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums Chart & #1 on The R&B Albums Chart and Rap Albums Chart. It features the singles Go, The Corner & Testify. 2007 saw the release of his 7th album Finding Forever. This would be his most successful album to date as it peaked at #1 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums Chart, The R&B and Rap albums Chart. It also reached Gold status. It features the Singles The Game, The People, I Want You & Drivin' Me Wild. Common has 11 studio albums total. He has also made the very successful transition from music to film (click here for filmography) & has an Academy Award to his credit (click here for Awards). He is currently working on 6 different films & shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
