Mathis (who is originally from LaGrange, Georgia) got his break in the industry when he signed to Interscope Records in 2001 & released his debut album Dark Days, Bright Nights via Timbaland's Beat Club Records imprint. The album yielded 2 singles, Ugly & Lovely (both produced by Timbaland). The album reached Gold Status & remains his most successful album to date having peaked at #3 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums chart and Billboard's R&B Albums Chart. Sparxxx has 5 studio albums & one EP to his credit.
