#VitalFactz: Rest In Peace - Lovebug Starski

One week ago today, the Hip Hop industry had suffered yet another tragic loss. Old School Pioneer Lovebug Starski (Born Kevin Smith) passed away from a heart attack in Las Vegas while moving speakers out of storage into his apartment. He was 57 years old. Smith had recently relocated to Las Vegas, where he was working to revive his DJ career with gigs including a weekly residency at the rooftop lounge of Indian restaurant Turmeric. His final appearance there was just hours before his death. Starski's career took off in 1981 with the release of his first single Positive Life. Later he would release such singles as Live At the Disco Fever, Do The Right Thing, House Rocker. He would continue with songs like Amityville (The House on the Hill). Smith is survived by mother, Martha Bowes; two sisters, Kim Shaw and Karen Rivers; three daughters,Shantel Williams, Tiffany Williams and Bryanna Smith; and three granddaughters and grandson. Rest In Peace Lovebug Starski a.k.a. Kevin Smith May 16, 1960 – February 8, 2018.
