2Centz: Chris Rivers "Fear Of My Crown"

One word to encapsulate the raw emotions of this video, the lyrical depth of each verse and quality of production on Chris Rivers "Fear Of My Crown", it would be, Wow. Chris uses adept wordplay to speak truth about the horrors of domestic violence as it is experienced by a child as both a witness and a victim. The imagery of the video alone is powerful. Underline the footage with the Brother’s lyrics and you feel like you bought a ticket to an Imax showing of a captivating drama. You’ll feel your emotions being aroused with a blend of anger and a desire to seek vengeance for the video’s protagonist, the video’s young victim of domestic violence. You know good music when it evokes strong feelings. Kudos to Chris for lending his voice, skills and creativity to a dilemma plaguing too many homes within our community. If nothing else, this song, and video, should inspire anyone experiencing the evils of domestic violence to realize it is something, with will and support, they can overcome and blossom into greatness. Hopefully, it will encourage people to speak out against domestic violence anx break the damaging cycles of abuse, neglect and exploitation which perpetuates domestic violence within families for generations.

Make sure to go get the album, its a great debut from a fellow Bronx Brethren and son of the Great Big Pun. Salute to Chris for carrying tradition, the gift is definitely in the blood...
