Happy Birthday Mos Def. Born Dante Terrell Smith December 11, 1973. Smith, A Brooklyn, NYC native first signed to Rawkus Records & in 1998 teamed up with fellow Brooklyn MC Talib Kweli & released their collaboration album Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star. The following year he released his debut solo album Black On Both Sides. This album reached Gold Status & features Umi Says as well as Ms. Fat Booty. In 2004 he released his second solo album The New Danger, another Gold seller. It features the single Sex, Love & Money.
