Happy Birthday @Nelly_Mo Nelly. Born Cornell Iral Haynes Jr. November 2, 1974. Nelly (originally born in Austin, Texas but raised in St. Louis, Missouri) burst out on the scene in the summer of 2000 with his debut studio album Country Grammar. This album reached Diamond Status (over 10 Million copies sold in the US & peaked at #1 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums Chart. It features the Gold Selling title track (Country Grammar) as well as the follow-up Gold Seller Ride With Me. In 2002 he released his sophomore album Nellyville. This album also peaked at #1 on the same chart & sold 6 million copies in the US. It features the Double Platinum single Hot In Herre & the Grammy Award winning follow-up single Dilemma. Both of these singles topped The Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Chart. In 2004 Nelly dropped the albums Sweat & Suit, the latter reaching Triple Platinum. Nelly's accomplishments include 3 Grammy Awards, 4 American Music Awards, 2 Soul Train Awards as well as 9 Billboard Music Awards.
