Happy Birthday @Eminem Eminem. Born Marshall Bruce Mathers III October 17, 1972. Marshall released his debut album Infinite (an independent album) in 1996. But it wasn't until Marshall (who is originally from Detroit, Michigan) was discovered by Dr. Dre that he got his big break. Dre signed him to his Aftermath Label. In 1999 Eminem released his major debut album The Slim Shady LP. It sold 5 million copies in the US & features the singles My Name Is & Guilty Conscience. It also earned him 2 Grammy Awards. In 2000 he dropped his second major album The Marshall Mathers LP. This is the album that put him over the top. It sold over 1.7 million copies in its first week. It went on to sell 11 million copies in the US. It features the singles Stan, The Real Slim Shady & The Way I Am. This album earned him another 2 Grammy Awards & topped the Billboard Hot 200 Albums Chart. In 2002 he released his 3rd official studio album The Eminem Show, which would be another Diamond seller (over 10 million copies) & earned him another Grammy & topped the same Chart as his previous album. It features the singles Without Me & Cleaning Out My Closet. His next 4 album (Encore, Relapse, Recovery & The Marshall Mathers LP 2) all topped The Billboard Hot 200 Albums Chart as well. Eminem has a total of 15 Grammy Awards, 8 American Music Awards & 16 Billboard Music Awards to his credit.
