Happy Born Eazy-E. Born Eric Lynn Wright September 7, 1963. Eric founded Ruthless Records, once the home of N.W.A. in 1986. With the help of Dr. Dre & DJ Yella on production, & N.W.A. members Ice Cube, MC Ren & The D.O.C. writing the group's lyrics, they helped put West Coast Gangsta Rap on the map. In the summer 1988 they released their debut full length studio album Straight Outta Compton. This album went triple Platinum with virtually no airplay. Eazy soon followed with a solo effort (Eazy-Duz-It) with Dre & Yella on the beats & Cube. Ren & D.O.C. penning the lyrics. This album went Double Platinum. Sadly, this would be the only full length studio album he would release (he released an EP in '92 & one in '93) during his lifespan. Eazy passed away from AIDS on March 26, 1995
