#VitalFactz: 28th Anniversary - Heavy D & The Boyz (Big Tyme)
On this day in 1989 Heavy D & The Boyz dropped their 2nd studio album Big Tyme. This album includes the hits We Got our Own Thing, Somebody For Me & Gyrlz, They Love Me. It reached Platinum status & peaked at #19 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums Chart & topped The R&B Albums Chart. Sadly, this would also be the final album featuring supporting performer Troy "Trouble T-Roy" Dixon. On July 15, 1990 while on tour in Indianapolis, Troy fell 2 stories during a show & died from his injuries. Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth paid tribute to Troy on their classic 1992 hit They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.).
