Rest In Peace Underground rapper Pumpkinhead. Born Robert Alan Diaz September 17, 1975 - June 9, 2015. Pumpkinhead (originally from Brooklyn, New York) first started writing at the age of 10 in the 6th grade after hearing Dana Dane's classic single Nightmares. He got his first big break in New York City hip hop when a friend of his gave a demo tape to Bobbito Garcia of the Stretch & Bobbito Show on WKCR. His catalog consists of 4 studio albums, 2 EP's & 8 Mixtapes. Diaz died in a New Jersey hospital, while waiting to undergo a gall stone surgery. The cause of death has not been disclosed. A street in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn (where he grew up) was named in his honor.
